Questions
Short answers from what the host team can say today. If yours is not here, write to info@gautengdebate.org.
Closer to the championship, in 2027. Team, adjudicator and independent registration will be announced here and by email. Institutions and sponsors can send an expression of interest now.
University teams, adjudicators and independents, as at any WUDC. Categories, nats allocations and eligibility will be in the registration pack when it is published. Until then, treat this as a championship for the global university circuit, hosted in Pretoria.
Fees and categories will be published in the registration pack. Scholarships launch the day registration opens, funded independently of sponsorship, with a dedicated allocation for Latin America, the Caribbean and Asia. See Access for the current commitment.
It depends on the country on your passport. Use the visa checker for visa-free, ETA, eVisa or mission guidance, with official government links. A Visa Committee is in place for participants who still need support.
Four hotels on the Hatfield high street, walking distance from campus. The organising committee covers participant transport between venues, hotels and socials for the duration of the championship. Details are on the Journey page.
Write privately to info@gautengdebate.org. Accessibility requests are routed through the accessibility committee and the Convenor — not a public list, and not a reason for stigma or exclusion. Physical access, low-echo rooms and mental health support are covered on Access.
The equity policy will be published with the other documents when it is ready. Until then, email the host team at info@gautengdebate.org. Equity officers will be named before the championship.
Email info@gautengdebate.org with the subject Volunteer or IA. Independent adjudicator applications will open with registration. The Adjudication Core has already committed floor shares of the IA budget to Latin America, the Caribbean and Asia.
Team, adjudicator and independent registration will open closer to the championship. Institutions and sponsors can send an expression of interest from the home page.
Check your passport country, then get official links to apply for an ETA, eVisa, or through a South African mission.
